The 1000+ athletes who earn gold, silver, or bronze medals will be awarded with a doughnut .... shaped medall! Creativity was certainly used in uniquely designing a circular medal with a hole in the middle. The Toirino OIympic Coimmittee presented this design as part of a recent press conference. On one side of the medal is the Torino logo; and on the flip-side is a collection of images from the various winter sports. This "openness" is intended to reflect the open squares or piazzas that are prevalent throughout Torino.
